Biography Text: Koichi Tabeta, DDS, PhD, is Professor in the Division of Periodontology, Niigata University Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences, Vice Hospital Director at Niigata University Medical and Dental Hospital, Niigata, Japan, a board-certified specialist in periodontology accredited by the Japanese Society of Periodontology, and a member of the Research Committee of the Japanese Society of Periodontology (2025–2027). He conducted postdoctoral research at The Scripps Research Institute from 2002 to 2005. His academic and clinical work focuses on periodontal pathogenesis, host–microbe interactions, inflammation control, and innovative therapeutic strategies for periodontal disease.
