Peer review is essential for maintaining the integrity of scientific research, and both the Journal of Periodontology (JOP) and Clinical Advances in Periodontics (CAP) rely on peer reviewers to provide constructive, unbiased evaluations of manuscripts submitted for publication. Additionally, the AAP journals are seeking high-quality submissions to increase the prestige of the journals. This workshop will detail the main components and qualities of a well-written manuscript, guiding principles of peer review, and specific components of a peer review report using published manuscripts as examples. Group exercises will be conducted, and online resources will be shared prior to and during the workshop. Following the workshop, participants should register on the JOP and CAP peer review platform. This course meets the Dental Board of California’s requirements for 4 units of continuing education.CE Hours: 4
