The management of excessive gingival display and altered passive eruption requires accurate diagnosis, comprehensive treatment planning, and meticulous surgical execution to achieve predictable esthetic and functional outcomes. Recent advances in digital technologies have transformed the workflow of esthetic crown lengthening, improving diagnostic accuracy and enhancing surgical precision. This lecture presents a comprehensive, evidence-based digital workflow for esthetic crown lengthening, integrating facial analysis, digital smile design, intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning, and guided surgical techniques. Emphasis will be placed on biologic and esthetic principles supporting clinical decision-making, demonstrating how digital tools can be incorporated into daily periodontal practice. Through step-by-step clinical cases, participants will learn how to diagnose, digitally plan, and execute esthetic crown lengthening procedures with greater predictability, precision, and efficiency. This course meets the Dental Board of California’s requirements for 0.5 units of continuing education.
